No plastic carrier bags should be put into the recycling container
Unfortunately, at present, our kerbside recycling scheme only accepts plastic bottles.
No other type of plastics should be put in, or used, in the recycling container as they will contaminate the load.
Glass and textiles cannot be recycled in your recycling container but they can be taken to the appropriate community-recycling site, which is better for the environment.
Alternatively, you can put them out for disposal and they will be sent for land burial, which is not!
Materials that cannot be recycled in your recycling container.
For example:
padded envelopes
plastic bags and packaging
wrappings from most chocolate bars
yoghurt pots
crisp packets
margarine & ice cream tub
polystyrene packaging
dirty food paper e.g. fish and chips
food waste
containers with a metal or plastic liner e.g. fruit juice, drinking chocolate or milk cartons.
