Reduction for people with disabilities
A liable person may apply for a reduction in the Bill if one of the following is a feature of the dwelling, and is required as essential or of major importance to the well being of a disabled person (child or adult) resident in the dwelling because of the nature and extent of his/her disability.
1) a room other than a bathroom, kitchen or lavatory used predominantly by a disabled person 2) a second bathroom or kitchen 3) extra space inside the property to allow for wheelchair circulation.
The Council Tax reduction is equivalent to a rebanding of the dwelling into a band immediately below that shown in the valuation list.
Band A properties included from 01 April 2000.
Reductions may be applied to residential institutions as well as private dwellings. |
